Making A Difference

The Humane Society of the Ochoco's shelter activities are primarily funded through the generosity and support of
community members. Donations help our work to develop the most effective programs that nurture homeless and
abandoned pets, prevent animal overpopulation and help to find loving homes for those in our care.

  • Each year we find new homes for more than
    1,200 animals.

  • We work to address the over-population
problem through a spaying and neutering
    program.

  • We recruit and train volunteers (the
cornerstone of our shelter) to help socialize
    and care for animals.

  • We secure foster homes to help with shelter
    overcrowding and provide a family
    atmosphere for the animals.

  • We reunite lost pets with their families.

  • And, we care for an average of 280 animals
    every day.

Cabella, now known as just “Bella” has a great update!

She has made a full recovery from 2 surgeries and now is a normal, happy,
bouncy puppy! She continues to live with her “foster” family, who are now
adopting her,
she lives on a mini farm with chickens and goats, has a “sister”
Bunny, who is a mini yorkie and loves life!
A big thank you to all who donated,
the donations covered almost every bit of her surgeries, HSO is so happy for all
the support.

A big Thank You to Hometown Animal Hospital for ALL they do for HSO and our
animals!
