Ox has a story. It's not dramatic or unusual. You can tell he was loved. He knows what it's like to be somebody's buddy, and he knows the difference now. That is what is so sad for Ox.
He wasn't abused. Somebody changed their lifestyle and Ox just didn't fit in anymore. And so they moved on and left him behind!
Poor Blue Ox, he has been at our shelter for nearly a year now. He is growing old here. His days are filled with noise and confusion, his nights are long and empty.
Ox is an 8-year-old, 85 lb, gray brindle, Mastiff/Pit cross. He loves to lay in the sun, play fetch, chew the ball a bit, and then return it to you so you can throw it again. He also loves to have you spray him with the hose, especially in the face, and chewing on bones from the butcher is his favorite way to relax after a long day.
Ox loves people including children, however he has a bad attitude for cats, and we are not sure about other dogs.
Anyone interested in Ox must own their own home, or have permission from their landlord if they rent. A site-visit will also be required. Ox needs to go to a family that will keep him for the remainder of his years.
